Ephesians 4:32 "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

Isn't that such a wonderful verse? I just love it. I am quoting it all the time to the children. We kind of use it as a key verse for our family relations. With the youngest four in our family, there are days, however, where I am quoting almost hourly. :) When the winter months set in, and we all have the cooped-upitis, I am quoting this verse to them with an usually loud voice. In other words, there are some days I am so frustrated with the bickering amongst them I end up yelling this verse at them. Not exactly very Christ-like, I'm afraid.

Then there are days like today. I see them living this verse without prompting from mom.

Our daughter woke up sick this morning. The throwing up bug has hit. When I went to check on her, she was propped up in bed. The boys had brought her a breakfast tray. It was so sweet to see them attending her. Even our dog was attending to her, perched on her bed. Of course, Sassy was just hoping for some crumbs, but it looked sweet. I did not want to burst the boys' bubble of being tenderhearted to let them know their sister did not really need to be eating just yet. I was just so proud of them for living out this verse.

This was a real blessing for us to see. Yesterday had been a heart-wrenching day of almost constant discipline.

One thing I love about being a parent is whenever I think about how I feel toward my children, I get a glimpse of how I may have made proud or disappointed God.

  2. Thanks! We feel it is important because learning how to obey us as their parents is vital in their walk with the Lord and obeying HIM! And there is no better instruction manual than the Bible, right?

We love you too! Can't wait for your happy addition to get here!
